Four Wheel Downhill Racing

The primary reason for launching this club is to give wheelchair users, along with able-bodied MTB riders, the opportunity to enjoy the thrills of off-road downhill 4 wheel mountain bike riding, promoting it as an integrated sport nationwide.

By raising awareness, we are looking to drum up a great deal of interest in this new activity, thereby creating a vibrant and inclusive MTB racing scene here in the UK. We are very enthusiastic about this project, and have already been in touch with various organisations, who have all reacted very positively to these new bespoke downhill 4 wheel mountain bikes, the integrated racing scene and the club's ambitions.

Our main aim now is to recruit more people to the ROUGH RIDERZ club.
We want to build up our mailing list of members and keep you all informed of developments within the club and the sport. The club works closely with the suppliers of downhill four wheel mountain bikes, so we also are able to provide more detailed information about buying your own machine, air-freight costs, importation arrangements, product specification and availability, etc.

We can even help advise you on how to obtain possible financial assistance with your purchase, if required.

We want to start a fully inclusive 'downhill MTB racing community' here in the UK, to help us to spread the knowledge and different experiences of the various people involved. As our membership grows we aim to create enough interest to justify dialogue with the various organisations necessary for the development of more accessible fourcross friendly sites.

We also want them to adapt more of the existing trails, thereby
providing the accessibility for all to enjoy some serious downhill MTB thrills. We will also share information on things such as good UK trails available, new UK trails opening, good foreign locations and/or holidays, competition events and other news.

This club has been formed for the benefit of all members, with a long-term ambition to eventually forming our own fully sponsored British team. We also want to find enough funding to enable us to invest in some spare bikes and other equipment, so the club can offer 'taster days' for newcomers to the sport. We want to encourage any riders who are interested in this project to join the club and register on our forum... both able-bodied and disabled people are welcome, anybody at all who wants to get involved.

I leave all the biking to my son. He started on a push bike, went on to mountain biking, then downhill, then motorcross and finally off-road landrovers, plus all the mending and up-grading. Cost-a-lot-a-dosh! Think I am best sticking with the hills on foot - 100's to go at and only the body to mend!

    Thanks again for your help.

Hi and Welcome, don't forget to tell us about your own bike and anywhere you've been you'd recommend, as for the Milan adventure that sounds awesome. Welcome to the corporate world of either help or sponsorship, best bet is to contact them again. The reasons we have heard for going slilent is we are to busy or the latest its far to dangerous, wouldn't like to be part of this and gnerally we have found they think you disappear if they don't reply.

    but keep at it...

    Hello everyone

Im organising a weekend in Milan with around 20 guys (aged 35-40)

We're looking to go to Lake Como for the day and do some decent downhill mountain biking.

I've approached a couple of companies to organise this for us (ie give us the routes, the bikes, ideally transport to and from Milan - but we could sort this bit ourselves) - but both have let me down by answering my original query then going silent

The trip is planned for september

    Anyone got any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance

    Glen

I wonder if Redbull would be keen on a bit of club sponsorship, fourcross seems like something you might find on the likes of the X games one day.

Put me down for a taster day Clap
